Extremely Tight Senate Race In Washington Makes Panicked Dems To Dump Millions To Try And Slow Republican Roll

Democrat groups have recently been spooked into dumping millions of dollars into the Senate Race in Washington, a historically deep-blue state that is prime for flipping if recent polls hold water as Republicans could take back the seat which has not seen a GOP occupant since 2001.

As the current Democrat leader for the state attempting to secure a sixth term, Sen. Pat Murray has been trying to campaign heavily against Republican Tiffany Smiley, a political newcomer.

It was reported by The Seattle Times that the campaign for Murray has dropped well over $17 million in the current race, whereas the Smiley campaign has only shelled out $10 million.

One conservative advocacy group, Citizens United, issued a poll this past Monday highlighting a 6-point race between Smiley and Murray.

As the president of Citizens United, David Bossie explained to Politico that the race “should not be a contest,” especially when you think about how Murray won the state with 59% support in 2016 and President Biden with 58% in 2020.

“Washington state is not a purple state. It is not a marginal state. It is a deep-blue state. To be having this conversation is a bad omen for Democrats,” he stated.

As expressed within the Politico report, Murray and her campaign shelled out over $1.5 million on ads with the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. Recently, however, she reportedly was issued a payment of $6.5 million from one pro-abortion Super PAC group, EMILY’s List, which has also utilized the majority of the funds for television advertisements.

“With Republicans threatening a national abortion ban, we need Patty Murray more than ever,” stated EMILY’s List spokesman Benjamin Ray to the publication, going on to state that the Democrat Senator is “a trailblazer and a champion for women’s freedom to control their own bodies.”

As reported by Politico, a total of $750,000 has been spent by the National Republican Senatorial Committee in Washington.

“Tiffany Smiley is running an incredible campaign, and she’s got 30-year incumbent Patty Murray and national Democrats running scared,” expressed Hartline.

As part of a recent debate carried out this past Sunday evening, Smiley threw the blame at Murray for the large number of issues that have been afflicting the country and the state in particular, highlighting the 30-year career that Murray wears like a badge of honor in politics.

“Crime’s out of control; Patty Murray is to blame,” stated Smiley, as reported by The Seattle Times. “Sen. Murray and Joe Biden have shown extreme weakness on the world stage,” seemingly making reference to the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia.

Despite the extreme smear campaign carried out on Smiley, the Republican candidate expressed to Murray that she needed to take back her campaign’s “dangerous rhetoric that has spent millions of dollars to attack and paint her” as a threat to democracy.

We are 15 days from Election Day and the choice before Washingtonians is clear – motivation and principle versus a 30 year career politician.

I encourage everyone to vote and make their voices heard this November! pic.twitter.com/DXK6sCepAH
