FBI Raid On Mar-A-Lago Sparks Wildly Different Reactions From Democrat Leadership

The recent FBI raid on Mar-A-Lago caused the top Democratic congressional leaders to issue quite different reactions to the bombshell piece of news concerning the events surrounding the Florida home of former President Donald Trump.

Recently, federal law enforcement agents carried out a search warrant for Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida due to their belief that Trump held back in turning over all of the classified documents and information that was slated to be handed back over to the National Archives as of the first of the year.

A response was issued by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) about the topic when she was questioned about it as part of a Tuesday morning interview on “Morning Joe” on MSNBC.

“All I know about that is what is in the public domain,” explained Pelosi. “I was surprised that it flashed on my phone last evening. So I don’t really have too much to say, except that, to have a visit like that, you need a warrant. To have a warrant, you need justification. And that says that no one is above the law – not even a president or a former president of the United States. But that, all of this will, I’m sure, be made known to us over time. But I have no knowledge of it.”

“I do know that there has been chatter — or more than chatter — about the presidential, president’s documents and how they must be preserved for history,” she went on. “And we’ll see what the justification was for the raid. I just don’t know. I think everybody was surprised by it.”

On the other hand, Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-NY) issued an insanely different response to the events once he was repeatedly pressed by Rachel Maddow, a host with MSNBC.

Once repeatedly questioned by Maddow for his reaction, Schumer explained, “Well I know nothing about it other than what I’ve read like everybody else, so I think it’s wise for me to withhold comment until we learn more.”

Maddow then highlighted the response to the raid issued by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and asked for his reaction to that response.

“I know that you don’t want to talk about the substance of the matter at Mar-a-Lago —” stated Maddow.

    “No,” answered Schumer.

“— but I do want to ask your reaction to what Mr. McCarthy has said,” finished Maddow.

“Look, I think we don’t, none of us know the facts and any comments are premature,” stated Schumer.

Maddow finalized that it would just be “futile” for her to continue asking him to respond to the subject if he was adamant about not speaking on it.
