FBI Agent Joe Pientka is prepared to testify against James Comey, Andrew McCabe, and Peter Strzok over the ambush interview of Gen Michael Flynn. After the interview, James Comey testified that his agents did not believe that Flynn lied to them. But as he travels on his fictional book tour, he is proclaiming the opposite.
Sen Chuck Grassley had demands on the DOJ to hand over the 302s from that interview and called on the FBI to make Pientka available for an interview. Grassley is convinced that Flynn was set up with an ambush and that the FBI and DOJ have lied about the conclusions made at the time of the interview.
In the last paragraph of Grassley’s letter, he requests Special Agent Joe Pientka be available for a transcribed interview with Committee staff:
Accordingly, no later than May 25, 2018, please provide:
1. The information requested in our February 15, 2017 letter, including the transcripts of the reportedly intercepted calls and any FBI reports summarizing them; and
2. The FBI agents’ 302s memorializing their interview of Flynn and 1A supporting docs, including the agents’ notes.
In addition, please make Special Agent Joe Pientka available for a transcribed interview with Committee staff no later than one week following the production of the requested documents.
Legal expert and former US Attorney, Joe diGenova offered his opinion on what has transpired and he says it is obvious that Comey and McCabe set out to frame Gen Flynn because they thought he was a danger to the country even though his conversation with Russian Ambassador Kislyak were legal and routine for any new administration looking to take over on inauguration day. After the interview, Special Agent Pientka went to Michael Horowitz, the Inspector General of the DOJ to complain about the conduct of Peter Strzok and Andrew McCabe.
Comey could be writing his next book from cell block D.
