Hold On To Your Elephant Heads! Trump Flip Flopped This Latest Move

After announcing just this last Thursday that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service would begin to allow the import of big game trophies (include Elephants), President Donald J. Trump announced over the weekend that he’s pausing the decision so that he can review all the facts before making the call.

Put big game trophy decision on hold until such time as I review all conservation facts. Under study for years. Will update soon with Secretary Zinke. Thank you!

Since his original announce to begin allowing it Thursday, he’s sparked a firestorm from both sides of the aisle.

As reported by Timothy Meads for Town Hall:

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service stated their reason for lifting the ban was to help promote conservation. African Elephants are on the endangered species list, but experts supposedly came on the conclusion that the massive expenses associated with controlled big game hunting would actually help these creatures “by putting much-needed revenue back into conservation.”

But this decision was nearly universally condemned. Environmental groups and animal rights activists, as well as several prominent Trump supporters view the targeting of large slow moving elephants as cruel and inhumane.

Many people, who are on Trump’s side political, took to Twitter to show their support for pausing the ban.

I'm happy he is rethinking the trophies. I think trophy hunting is not good at all

Please keep this ban on big game trophies in place. I believe you will President Trump! Thank you for all that you do!!! MAGA!!!

Further reported by Susan Wright for Red State:

Why the issue wasn’t reviewed before ever lifting the bans may remain a mystery, but I think it’s a better than fair bet to say in big part it was one area where Trump could overturn something put in place by his predecessor, former President Obama, with relative ease.

And while I’m apt to believe that anything Obama did needs to be overturned as swiftly and completely as possible, this is one of those issues that doesn’t need to be dabbled with, simply out of spite.
