Insane Statement From Whoopi Goldberg Targeting TPUSA Sparks New ‘Sue The View’ Trend

This past Tuesday, #SueThe View managed to trend on Twitter in the wake of co-host Whoopi Goldberg insulting and smearing TPUSA, insisting that the conservative group had allowed neo-Nazis into their event held on Saturday in Tampa, Florida. Once she realized the gravity of her mistake, she quickly started to backtrack by giving a “quick clarification” to note that the neo-Nazis were “outside protesters.”

Charlie Kirk, the founder of TPUSA, stated that the group was looking into legal action against the show.

Talking to lawyers. Many think we have a strong case. You cannot smear minors as Nazis and get away with it. It impacts them for the rest of their life. #SueTheView

Sara Haines, another co-host of “The View,” pushed Goldberg to make her remarks by stating, “I’ve got a legal note. The conservative group Turning Point USA has condemned the group of neo-Nazis and said they have nothing to do with the organization.”

In the same vein, Co-host Joy Behar took the chance to go after Florida GOP governor Ron DeSantis, stating, “Yeah, but where was DeSantis is what I want to know?”

Goldberg then went after TPUSA, claiming, “But you let them in. You let them in and you knew what they were. So you are complicit.”

Once back from an ad break and apparently warned that she needed to walk back her statements, Goldberg stated, “I want to make a quick clarification about the neo-Nazis at the Turning Point event: they were outside protesters.”

But then she went on, “My point was more metaphorical, that you embrace them at your thing, I felt. So I just — they were not in the building. … They were not in the building; they were in the mix of people at the thing.”

While they were forced by their legal department to correct two of these misrepresentations live on air, Whoopi continued to insist that TPUSA somehow welcomed “nazis” into our event “metaphorically.” pic.twitter.com/320UV0aH0G

In response, TPUSA stated on social media, “After a group of Antifa and left wing protesters showed up, predictably, to protest our event, they eventually dispersed, then minutes later these ‘nazis’ appeared. Who are these people? We have no idea, and ABC and other news media aren’t curious enough to find out.”

“TPUSA students confronted and argued with these individuals,” the organization went on. “Our security attempted to remove the ‘nazis’ but were unable to intervene because they were standing on the public sidewalk. TPUSA students ultimately left the scene, at which point these individuals dispersed.”

The protesting neo-Nazis held out anti-Semitic materials and a banner sporting “DeSantis Country” in what seemed to be an effort to try and smear him by linking him to their ideals.

The group put out their own statement saying, “Turning Point USA 100% condemns those ideologies in the strongest of terms.” They highlighted that the individuals were sitting on public property, which meant that the security personnel for TPUSA could not disperse the group and that TPUSA students first stood against the group but then left.
