Kanye West Officially Banned From Grammys For His Recent Behavior

In a recent report, it has been stated that Kanye West has been banned from the performance roster of the Grammy Awards due to the recent unhinged behavior he has expressed across social media.

As reported by Variety, despite the fact that West was not on the list at all for possible performers for the event, one representative for West issued their confirmation that the Rapper had gotten a call in order to tell him that he was now banned from being able to perform at the 2022 Grammys.

As stated in the report from Variety:

Kanye West has been barred from performing at the Grammy Awards due to his “concerning online behavior,” a rep for the artist confirms to Variety. Reps for the Recording Academy and CBS, which present the Grammys, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

West’s rep cited a report in the Blast posted late Friday claiming that the artist’s team received a phone call Friday night informing him he had been “unfortunately” removed from the lineup of performers for the show due to his “concerning online behavior.” While West, who is up for five 2022 Grammy Awards, was not among the first list of performers announced on Tuesday, he may have been a planned performer. A rep for West sent Variety a link to that story, saying only “This is confirmed”; the rep did not respond to requests for further information, although the Blast report states, “Our sources say Kanye’s team isn’t surprised by the decision.”

Over the years, West has gathered a reputation for being a wild card such as back in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina he claimed, “George Bush doesn’t care about black people” all the way to the time he rushed the stage in order to interrupt Taylor Swift in order to singe the braises of Beyonce while at the Video Music Awards. Those at variety seem to think that this move is just an attempt from the producers at the Grammys to try and avoid any potential commotion.

With all of the things that West has recently chosen to post, and the manner in which he has chosen to portray his message, these fears that he may have tried to utilize the stage of the Grammys to highlight things other than just his art seem to be well-founded.

In the wake of his very public and angry split with ex-wife Kim Kardashian, West has made use of his various social media accounts in order to make the claim that he has been kept from seeing his children that he shares with Kardashian, a claim that is vehemently denied. West has also harshly criticized Kardashian’s new partner Pete Davidson, a well-known “Saturday Night Live” comedian.
