The Chamber of Commerce in Lexington, Virginia is in a panic after tourism in the city has dropped off dramatically after Stephanie Wilkinson, co-owner of the Red Hen, threw Sarah Sanders out of the restaurant. Not satisfied with that, she followed Sander’s in-laws to the restaurant across the street. Her husband’s family are liberal democrats and Wilkinson protested them.
You have to wonder if she is now persona non grata since she is ruining businesses that depend on tourists. The moment the incident happened, people began calling the tourism bureau, complaining. In fact, they are still calling. The city’s Chamber of Congress are now trying to put together an emergency fund in order to advertise digitally.
Sarah Sanders: “Last night I was told by the owner of Red Hen in Lexington, VA to leave because I work for POTUS and I politely left. Her actions say far more about her than about me. I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so”
US News reported:
A small town in Virginia is trying to recover its image after The Red Hen restaurant famously refused to serve President Donald Trump’s spokeswoman, Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
The Roanoke Times reported Sunday that a regional tourism board is pulling together emergency funds to boost its digital marketing campaign.
Normally that money is saved. But officials agreed the region is in desperate need of positive coverage.
The tourism board serves Lexington, where The Red Hen is located, and other communities that are about three hours from Washington.
The Red Hen incident in June prompted thousands of a calls and emails to the tourism office. They’re still coming in. The office received a letter on Thursday from a Georgia family that wrote to say it would never return because of what happened.
One severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome and an entire city is hurting.
