NAACP Makes Disgustingly Erroneous Claim About MLK And Global Warming

I’ll get right to the freaking point! The NAACP has equated man-made global warming to that of civil rights issues, saying that King’s vision of a racially just society cannot be achieved without handling that.

“We see climate change as a civil rights issue,” Jacqueline Patterson, head of the NAACP’s environmental and climate justice program, said in an online radio spot for the Yale Center for Environmental Connection.

With less and less wiggle room to throw their global warming claims to, it seems that activists are now reaching out to this sort of junction, arguing “minority and low-income populations are disproportionately affected by global warming,” Patterson told Yale’s online radio Climate Connections.

Which is strange when you consider that a 2014 Pacific Research Institute report found that the Clean Power Plan may actually result in more costs for African American families in Ohio.

“Households in lower-income African-American neighborhoods would be hardest hit with the cost of electricity equaling 26 percent of household income, or even higher,” according to the study.

During the Obama Error, his administration tried using a form of “environmental justice” to promote the plan, aiming to cut emissions from power plants.

“Carbon pollution standards are an issue of justice,” former EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy told activists in a teleconference call in 2014. “If we want to protect communities of color, we need to protect them from climate change.”

The Trump administration, on the other hand, may seek to remove the Clean Power Plan because they potentially see that the costs most likely will not outweigh the benefits. If so, that is certainly money that could be better spent elsewhere to combat the possibility of “global climate change”.

Either way, gimmie an electric car and get us off this foreign oil.

To try and literally strong arm the “global warming issue” by pulling off such a move is gross and whoever dreamt that up should be ashamed of themselves.
