The man that was captured on video shooting a firearm scant moments before Kyle Rittenhouse shot and killed a pair of attackers during the 2020 riots that took place in Kenosha, WI, has been officially slammer with a charge of armed robbery and a few other alleged crimes, as stated in a recent report.
One Joshua Ziminsky, along with his wife Kelly Ziminsky, both of whom were part of the August 25, 2020 riots that devastated the city, were charged this past Monday evening with a series of crimes which included a charge of armed robbery along with charges of armed burglary, false imprisonment, intimidation, and ID theft, stated a report from the Kenosha County Eye. Details concering their crime spree were not made public immediately, but it was confirmed that the couple was officially booked on their multiple charges as of Monday.
Ziminski was taken into custody in the wake of the riots due to a gun charge, along with a charge of arson, for his alleged role in igniting a trailer on fire in the middle of the riots. Video evidence of the riot highlighted him shooting a handgun into the air just Rittenhouse, who told reporters that he was there to guard businesses from being attacked by rioters, fled from the scene for his life. The then-17-year-old fired at and shot three people who chased him down in order to attack him, which included Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, and Anthony Huber, 26, who both died.

Rittenhouse was slammed with various counters of first-degree intentional and reckless homicide in the deaths, as well as the wounding of Gaige Grosskreutz. However, a jury of his peers found that he was just defending himself during the events of the tio, which was kicked off by the police shooting of Jocob Blake, an armed black man. The teen was looking down the barrel of a sentence of life in prison with zero chance at parole, but was fully acquitted of all charges this past November.
Rittenhouse, who lived with his mother just across state lines in Illinois, worked in Kenosha as a lifeguard, where his dad lived. He had made the agreement to assist in giving extra security to local merchants the night of the riots, and was armed with an AR-15-style rifle that he had purchased. He was also acquitted of any and all weapons charges in relation to the case.
In the wake of his full acquittal, Rittenhouse found himself the poster child of self-defense to quite a few on the right, while his antics claimed that he was able to get away with murder.
Ziminski was issued his charges a few months in the wake of the riot and was allowed out on bail at the start of this year, stated the outlet. He was still awaiting trial when he was once again taken back into custody this past Monday.
