Opinion: Ocasio-Cortez is Quickly Destroying the Democratic Party

There is one good thing you can say about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. She is destroying the Democratic party from within. When she was first victorious over Crowley, Democrats thought she was the greatest thing since sliced bread. However, they see the writing on the wall.

She’s actively campaigning against incumbents. Her extremist policies are turning off a large portion of America. Even in Democratic districts that are not followers of Vladimir Lenin. She could possibly cost the Democrats 3 to 4 seats in November. Thus making it impossible for them to retake the House. She’s also making a lot of enemies along the way.

Former Dem Senator Joe Lieberman is urging voters to vote for Crowley in the general election. He’s afraid that she will permanently damage the party with her extremely far left policies. Many criticized Lieberman in the past for being too moderate but even progressives can’t stomach her.

    From The Daily Caller

    Sen. Tammy Duckworth of Illinois.

“I think that you can’t win the White House without the midwest,” Duckworth told CNN’s “State of the Union” in late June. “And I don’t think that you can go too far to the left and still win the midwest.”

Even the reliably liberal Vox noted that “centrist liberals are still necessary” if Democrats want to make any inroads outside of the coasts.

“Not every insurgent or left-wing candidate will win in the 2018 midterms. Democrats must be strategic about their choice of candidates; a left-wing candidate could sink a seat that might otherwise be turned blue,” Michael Brenes wrote for Vox.

Yet, it appears that party leaders want it both ways. On one hand, as Perez noted shortly after her win, the idea of a younger generation of candidates energizing the base could help Democrats take back power from the GOP.

They’re quickly learning that young and exciting is no good when the candidate is extreme and demented.
