It’s not a shock the Hill should be fired because that goes without saying. What is shocking is that CNN did it. Usually when one of their hosts say something truly heinous, they get a contract extension.
Maybe they figured they lost the rating war against Spongebob Squarepants with him, they can lose to him without Hill. It must be hell, when you are competing against cartoon characters. Now they know what Fox has had to endure against CNN and MSNBC all these years.
Hill called for the extinction of Israel and turning all of the land over to the non existent Palestinians.
A Temple University spokesperson told TheDC, “Marc Lamont Hill has been quoted extensively over the last 24 hours. Marc Lamont Hill does not represent Temple University and his views are his own. However, we acknowledge that he has a constitutionally protected right to express his opinion as a private citizen.”
During his speech, Lamont Hill stated, “Tactics otherwise divergent from Dr. King or Gandhi were equally important to preserving safety and attaining freedom. If we are in true solidarity, we must allow them the same range of opportunity and political possibility. We must recognize the right of an occupied people to defend themselves.”
“We must prioritize peace, but we must not romanticize or fetishize it. We must promote non-violence at every opportunity, but cannot endorse narrow politics that shames Palestinians for resisting, for refusing to do nothing in ethnic cleansing,” he continued. “Justice requires a Free Palestine from the River to the Sea.”
“From the river to the sea” is a political slogan used by Hamas and Palestinian nationalists who believe in eliminating the state of Israel, according to the Anti-Defamation League.
