Both, the Democrats and their fellow travelers in the lamestream press have tried to smear President Trump again and again, Barack Obama was the real culprit. This time it is over denied visas when the government believes the birth certificates are fakes.
Both Democrats and the press tried to rake him over the coals for this policy, which began under George Bush, expanded by Barack Obama but has been much less used under Trump. Of course, neither has stopped bashing Trump because facts don’t matter, ideology does and if they have to lie to further their cause, so be it.
The State Department is pushing back on a Washington Post article claiming that the number of American citizens living near the southern border area being denied renewal passports is rising under Trump.
Midwives and physicians located near the border in Mexico have given families fraudulent birth certificates to prove American citizenship for decades in exchange for money. WaPo’s article focused on the people in America who applied for renewed passports but were denied because the government believed their birth certificates were from one of these midwives.
The Post’s piece claimed that “The Trump administration is accusing hundreds, and possibly thousands of Hispanics along the border of using fraudulent birth certificates since they were babies, and it is undertaking a widespread crackdown.”
However, that is not true, according to the State Department. In fact, the number of domestic passport denials at the southern border is at a six-year low and the number of midwife cases has gone down under the current administration.
The highest number of denials came in 2015 at 1,500 denials. You won’t hear that from the NYT, WaPo, CNN or PMSDNC. Let’s face it. propaganda is all the left has in its arsenal as it is completely devoid of original ideas or policies that actually work.
