Quite a few players for the Tampa Bay Rays have come forward and refused to wear the new pride night logo on their uniforms during the team’s upcoming Saturday night game against the Chicago White Sox, claiming it comes from religious reasons.
The team has added flags, which of course included the extreme-left Black Lives Matter movement, to their logos and has been caught surprised that not all of their players seem to want to participate in their PR stunt.
“Pitchers Jason Adam, Jalen Beeks, Brooks Raley, Jeffrey Springs and Ryan Thompson were among those who did not, electing to peel off the burst logo and wear the standard hat,” read a report from The Tampa Bay Times.
Aged 30, Adam was selected by officials from the team to talk for all of the players who have stated that they did not want to be associated with this extreme leftist ideology.
“A lot of it comes down to faith, to like a faith-based decision,” stated Adam. “So it’s a hard decision. Because ultimately we all said what we want is them to know that all are welcome and loved here. But when we put it on our bodies, I think a lot of guys decided that it’s just a lifestyle that maybe — not that they look down on anybody or think differently — it’s just that maybe we don’t want to encourage it if we believe in Jesus, who’s encouraged us to live a lifestyle that would abstain from that behavior, just like (Jesus) encourages me as a heterosexual male to abstain from sex outside of the confines of marriage. It’s no different.”
“It’s not judgmental. It’s not looking down,” He went on. “It’s just what we believe the lifestyle he’s encouraged us to live, for our good, not to withhold. But again, we love these men and women, we care about them, and we want them to feel safe and welcome here.”
This recent event takes place just after Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis shot down an earmarked $35 million, that was planned to go to the Tampa Bay Rays, due to the team putting out an odd anti-Second Amendment statement.
Their choice took place after the Rays put out a statement just last week that states that the recent tragedies “have shaken us to the core.”
“This cannot become normal. We cannot become numb. We cannot look the other way,” stated the release. “We all know, if nothing changes, nothing changes.”
The ball team also stated that it would be sending donations to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars out to far-left anti-Second Amendment groups.
“The Rays organization stands committed to actionable change and has made a $50,000 commitment to Everytown for Gun Safety’s Support Fund,” reads the statement.
“Everytown is the largest gun violence prevention organization in America. Rather than our usual game coverage on social media tonight, we’ve partnered with Everytown to amplify facts about gun violence in America.”
