The “Peaceful” Student Protest Was Anything But [Video]

So yesterday, thousands of students walked out of their schools in protest of current gun control laws, with the idea to bring about change through a peaceful protest.

But many of the protests were anything but peaceful… most notably Antioch High School near Nashville, Tenn. Students tore down flags, jumped on police cars, and more.

“Unfortunately, some students on our Antioch campus today chose to protest in ways that significantly disrupted school operations and threatened the safety and order for other students and staff within our school,” district spokesperson Michelle Michaud told the TV station. “Swift action was taken by school security and [police] to address the situation … We look forward to welcoming students back tomorrow for a great day of teaching and learning.”

The countrywide walkouts come just a month after 17 students and staff were shot and killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. Students from that high school walked out of class Wednesday as well, the Miami Herald reports.

“We shouldn’t be here, but we are because we can’t deal with the idea of this happening again,” Leonor Muñoz, a senior at Stoneman Douglas, said addressing others during the walkout. “We should be studying for a test we will probably fail.”

After the Parkland shooting on Valentines Day, many students have come forward demanding “more gun control” and leave it to kids being taught by brainwashed left teachers to make a protest anything but peaceful.

They’re just incapable of anything else.

“Adults will tell us we’re too young to understand and that our voices won’t make a difference, but today at this walkout, we’re here to prove them wrong,” said Camille Garcia-Mendoza, a senior who marched out of Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart in Coconut Grove. “Every phone call to our local representatives, every email to your senator, every voter registration drive and every sign held up in protest is weakening the gun lobby and bringing us one step closer to change.”

“Today, our students are making history,” said Broward Superintendent Robert Runcie.

“It’s important we need to express ourselves and this can’t happen again,” said Stoneman Douglas student Juan Rojas, 17, as he marched toward Pine Trails Park.
