Libby German, 13, and her best friend Abby Williams, also 13, took a stroll over the Monon High Bridge in Delphi, Indiana, on February 13, 2017. The remains of the two were discovered in a creek approximately a mile distant the next day.
A guy named Richard Allen was reportedly booked into the Carroll County Jail on Friday, more than five years after the girls’ murders, according to Fox 59.
On Monday, police will issue an official statement about the investigation.
Libby’s phone included evidence police examined after discovering their bodies, including images of a suspect and an audio clip of a guy saying “down the hill.” Besides the brief audio recording, police also published two drawings of possible suspects. Court records obtained by The Murder Sheet Podcast this summer reveal that an FBI agent sought a search warrant for the home owned by Ron Logan, where the girls’ remains were discovered.
According to the results of the search warrant, the length of the tape featuring the “down the hill” clip was 43 seconds, not the 15 seconds that were initially reported. Blood was allegedly found in copious amounts around the girls’ bodies, leading detectives to conclude that the killer must have gotten blood on their hands or clothing. Additionally, police have speculated that the killer “positioned and staged” the girls’ bodies and maybe took a “souvenir” from them.
It was implied in the warrant that Logan’s alibi was a sham and that he matched the physical description of the suspect shown in Libby’s phone images. Logan has not been accused of wrongdoing or listed as a suspect concerning the deaths.
Recent media coverage has focused on discovering a social media profile that had communicated with Libby before her death, bringing the case to a broader audience. Anthony’s shots were revealed to belong to Kegan Kline, a person already under investigation for child exploitation. According to Fox 59, Kline will be tried on 30 charges of child pornography possession, child exploitation, and obstruction of justice.
No criminal charges have been brought against Kline, and he is not even considered a suspect in the Delphi killings.
Libby’s elder sister Kelsi German tweeted, “Today is the day,” about the planned news conference announcing the case and the arrest.
Please understand how appreciative I am of every one of you. For now, we’ll refrain from further comment; if you have any queries, you may contact the Carroll County Prosecutor’s Office. A news conference is scheduled for Monday, maybe at 10 am. German tweeted said they would elaborate at that time.
