The chairwoman of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), explained during a recent interview that was published over the past weekend that President Joe Biden has no plans to make a run for a second term in the oval office.

These statements from Maloney, which were issued as part of an interview near the first of the month held with The New York Times Editorial Board, take place as recent polling information becomes public that highlights that a vast majority of the American people are worried about the mental fitness of Biden to hold the office.

When questioned, “Should President Biden run again,” Maloney answered, “Off the record, he’s not running again.”

Almost immediately The Times shot back, “Not off the record. On the record.”

“On the record?” stated Maloney. “No, he should not run again.”

It was reported by Bloomberg News this past week that Biden was slated to kick off his re-election bid in the wake of the upcoming midterm elections despite the fact that many surveys have found that the vast majority of even Democrats, roughly 75%, are against him attempting to make another run.

When questioned this past month as part of an appearance on “The View” from ABC concerning whether Biden “intends to run in 2024,” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated her claim that Biden was, in fact, making a run.

“So let me just say this and the president has been asked this question multiple times. So have I,” she explained. “The president intends to run in 2024. That is something that he’s, again, has said multiple times. It is so far away right now. It is a long time away and what we are going to focus on, on how do we continue to deliver for the American public today, and the next day and has we have been doing the past 18 months. I will say this from that same poll that you are reading off of, is that in a head-to-head, the president beats Donald Trump.”

While taking part in a primary debate earlier this month against Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY), Maloney stated that she did not think that Biden would try to run again and then issued an apology the following day.

“Mr. President, I apologize,” Maloney stated while on CNN. “I want you to run. I happen to think you won’t be running, but when you run or if you run, I will be there 100%. You have deserved it.”

“You are a great president, and thank you for everything you’ve done for my state and all the states and all the cities in America,” she went on. “Thank you, Mr. President.”
