As part of a press conference held this week, Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis went after physicians who chose to carry out transgender surgeries on young kids by stating that they needed to be held legally liable for what they did.

DeSantis spoke out about the need to protect “very young kids” from being subjected to what the extreme political left has dubbed to be “gender affirming care.”

“But they don’t tell you what that is, is they are actually giving very young girls double mastectomies, they want to castrate these young boys,” explained DeSantis. “That’s wrong, and so we’ve stood up and said both from the health and children well-being perspective, you don’t disfigure 10, 12, 13-year-old kids based on gender dysphoria.”

“Eighty percent of it resolves anyways by the time they get older,” finished DeSantis. “So why would you be doing this?”

“I think these doctors need to get sued for what’s happening,” finished DeSantis.

These statements from DeSantis as part of the press conference came in the wake of his seeking out on Tuesday to get rid of any and all confusion within the media or from educators that may spring up about just what can and can not be taught in public school classrooms once the first bell rings this coming fall.

Having championed a law trying to bring academics back to basics in light of the extreme Left’s increasing emphasis on forcing their liberal social mores onto kids, DeSantis claimed that it comes down to the three Rs. The Florida governor’s social media post came up in the wake of a Washington Post report that stated that Florida school officials are “plagued by confusion and uncertainty about what a raft of new laws.” They do not need to be, explained DeSantis.

“As students head back to their classrooms this fall, I’m happy to clear up any ‘confusion’ the media may have about appropriate curriculum:  ✅ Math, Reading, Writing  ❌ CRT, Sexualized Content, Transgender Ideology  Florida schools will educate children, not indoctrinate them,” posted DeSantis.

Back in April, DeSantis put pen to paper on House Bill 7, which, as explained by someone familiar with the bill, read that Florida education would not take part in “indoctrinating students with CRT principles such as”:

Members of one race, color, national origin, or sex are morally superior. A person, by virtue of his or her race, color, national origin, or sex is inherently racist, sexist, or oppressive. A person’s moral character or status as either or oppressed is necessarily determined by his or her race, color, national origin, or sex. Such virtues as merit, excellence, hard work, fairness, neutrality, objectivity, and racial colorblindness are racist or sexist.

“No one should be instructed to feel as if they are not equal or shamed because of their race,” concluded DeSantis. “In Florida, we will not let the far-left woke agenda take over our schools and workplaces. There is no place for indoctrination or discrimination in Florida.”
