On Tuesday, former president Trump cheered the defeat of a Republican candidate who would have been a critical pickup in the fight for control of the U.S. Senate.
The 45th president wrote on Truth Social that he was happy that Republican Joe O’Dea lost to Democratic incumbent Sen. Michael Bennet in Colorado, a contest that had been considered a toss-up in the final days.
Don Bolduc, a Republican running for the Senate in New Hampshire, won his party’s primary, and Trump stated he would have won if he hadn’t reversed course on the integrity of the 2020 election.
“Don Bolduc lost tonight when he abandoned his position on Election Fraud in the 2020 Presidential Primary, despite having just won a landslide victory in the primary. If only he had kept his integrity, he would have triumphed. I had a lot to learn.”
