As a response to the border strategies implemented by the current administration, the governor of Texas has persistently transported migrants to designated sanctuary communities.
Recent reports reveal that a group of migrants from Texas arrived in Washington, D.C., on Sunday, specifically at the Naval Observatory, the residence of Vice President Kamala Harris located at Number One Observatory Circle.
Videos shared on Twitter by a local ABC affiliate captured the moment migrants disembarked from a bus and retrieved their belongings from the vehicle’s storage compartment.
Governor Greg Abbott of Texas has been actively dispatching buses carrying immigrants who crossed the U.S.-Mexico border to the vice president’s residence.
In fact, Harris experienced a similar occurrence on Christmas Day in 2022 when a busload of immigrants was dropped off in front of her house. The Naval Observatory also served as a temporary stop for migrants in September and October.
In April 2022, the governor initiated the transportation of migrants from border cities to the nation’s capital with the intention of compelling the Biden administration to address immigration enforcement and enhance border security.
Abbott conveyed his concerns to Vice President Biden through a letter, emphasizing that the president’s policies were subjecting many individuals to the harsh and dangerous cold as a polar vortex swept across Texas.
“The burden imposed by your open border policies disproportionately falls on Texas,” Abbott added in his letter.
During an interview with Fox News’ Jesse Waters, Abbott stated his intention to continue sending buses filled with migrants to liberal communities in the northern parts of the country, such as New York and Chicago, even after the expiration of Title 42 on Thursday.
