Sen Bill Nelson used a disaster to raise money for another disaster, his continuance in the Senate. He gives a list of organizations, you can contribute to. One of those is Act Blue, the leading fundraising site for the Democratic Party. Being insensitive to the plight of his constituents is nothing new for Nelson. Before the hurricane hit, he used Michael to raise money for his campaign and did the same with Hurricane Irma a year or two back. I wonder how many people Nelson has scammed this way. House Committee chair Bob Goodlatte has announced that he will subpoena Rod Rosenstein after Rosenstein was a no-show last week. The committee wants to question him about volunteering to wear a wire to tape President Trump and for trying to recruit cabinet members to invoke the 25th Amendment. Rosenstein said it was just a joke, but two people that were at that meeting, Andrew McCabe and Lisa Page both testified that Rosenstein was serious. Four women in North Dallas have been arrested for a voter fraud scheme that stole votes from the elderly and gave them to Democratic candidates. This was a paid operation in which the women would request a large number of write in ballots and then they would either intercept the ballots or pretend to help the people fill out their ballot, but they would fill in the name of their preferred candidate. The state of Wisconsin must pay two transgender women over $700k because the state did not cover sex reassignment surgery.Last month, U.S. District Judge William Conley ruled that a ban on transgender medical procedures was discriminatory and that the state must add coverage for sex reassignment medical care. That will turn out to be a costly proposition for Wisconsin, since their insurance companies will have to figure in up to $150k in medical costs for every person who wants to change sexes.
